FIRE STATION 55

The 2001 Fire Capital Improvement Bond Program includes funding for the purchase of land for a future fire station in the area of I-17 and Jomax Road. The proposed location is the Northeast corner of I-17 and Jomax Road. Funding for the design and construction of the station is included in the 2006 Capital Improvement Program. Land acquisition is scheduled for FY 08-09 and construction is scheduled for FY 09-10, with an anticipated opening in Spring 2010. The estimated total project budget is $8.5 million.

PUBLIC MEETING – DESIGN PHASE

FIRE STATION 72

The Phoenix Fire Department is hosting a public meeting to present the proposed design for a new Fire Station to be located on the east side of Cave Creek Road, north of Dove Valley Road (extended). Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2009 and completion is scheduled for September 2009. The total estimated project budget is $5.4 million. The project is being funded through the Fire Department’s 2006 Bond Program.

PUBLIC MEETING

Desert Foothills Park Master Plan Submittal

The Master Plan for Desert Foothills Park, located at 1010 Marketplace SW, will be presented to the public for final review before it is submitted to the Parks and Recreation Board for approval. Last November, the community, through a public meeting open house format, and on-line comment submittals, was able to provide suggestions to the Parks and Recreation Department on what they would like to see at Desert Foothills Park. Top amenities have been adopted into the park’s master plan. Currently there are no funds budgeted for development of any new amenities.

Master Plan – Unnamed Park at 47th Avenue and Alta Vista Road

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department invites you to an open house to receive public comment on the draft master plan for a new neighborhood park to be located at 47th Avenue and Alta Vista Road. The proposed amenities for the new park include lighted basketball courts, playground, restroom, water play area, picnic ramadas, and landscaping with open turf and shade trees. This project is funded through the City of Phoenix Parks Southwest Impact Fee Program.
