To learn more about the eight initiatives appearing on the November ballot, plan to attend a Brown Bag conversation at noon Friday, Oct. 10, at Phoenix City Council Chambers, 200 W. Jefferson St.
The presentation by the city’s Government Relations staff will describe the significance of each initiative and the effect of a "yes" or "no" vote. The ballot measures include the following topics: Medical Choice for Arizona, Protect Our Homes, Payday Loan Reform Act, Homeowners Bill of Rights, Stop Illegal Hiring, Marriage, Majority Rules – Let the People Decide and State Legislator’s Salaries.
Three of the measures are proposed constitutional amendment initiatives brought forward by petitions, three would amend state statutes and one, amending state statutes, was referred by the Legislature. After the presentation, there will be a question-and-answer period.
