The Phoenix Police Department has developed a comprehensive strategic plan that outlines the implementation of crime suppression and crime prevention efforts focused on making Phoenix the safest major city. Known as Phoenix Policing this two pronged approach incorporates community policing strategies to create a unique blend of crime reduction and crime prevention strategies used to make our local neighborhoods safe and eliminate environments that produce crime.
Originally developed in 1996, the Policing Plan is a short-range planning tool designed to move us toward our long-range objectives. The following information provides an overview of the 2004-2006 Policing Plan and the issues that are the focus of the next two years toward achieving our vision.
