NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

PARADISE VALLEY VILLAGE PLANNING COMMITTEE

*REVISED

 

 

Pursuant to A.R.S. Section 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the PARADISE VALLEY VILLAGE PLANNING COMMITTEE and to the general public, that the PARADISE VALLEY VILLAGE PLANNING COMMITTEE will hold a meeting open to the public on Monday, September 8, 2008, at 6:00 p.m., located in the Multi-purpose Room, at the Paradise Valley Community Center, 17402 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

 

Note:

1.       Agenda items may be taken out of order.

2.       Anyone wishing to address an agenda item must complete a speaker card.

3.       Due to the time required for the number of items, the following time limits are recommended so the Committee may give all the cases on the agenda the same level of attention:

·             Staff Report and Recommendation

·             Applicant: 15 minutes

·             Other Interested Parties:  15 minutes

·             Applicant Response:  5 minutes

·             Staff Comments

·             Floor Closed:  Committee motion, discussion and vote

 

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Call to Order.

 

 

2.

Review and approval of the May 5, 2008 meeting minutes.

 

 

3.

Public comments concerning items not on the agenda (not for committee discussion or action).

 

 

4.

Introduction of new Village Planning Committee members Bryan Jeffries representing the Mayor, Jill Hoogendyk representing District 2 and Jennie Richardson representing District 2.

 

 

 

INFORMATION ITEMS:

5.

Presentation and discussion on “Making Sustainable Communities Happen.” The presentation will provide information to the Committee on sustainability concepts to include sustainable measures and indicators utilized in the built environment. Presentation by the ASU Stardust Center.

 

 

 

RECOMMENDATION ITEMS:

Presentation, discussion and possible recommendation on case Z-SP-16-08-2 a request to rezone 0.03 acres of land located approximately 730 feet north of the northeast corner of 32nd Street and Greenway Road from C-2 (Intermediate Commercial) to C-2 SP (Intermediate Commercial with a Special Permit) to allow a tattoo shop and all underlying C-2 uses.  Presentation by Matthew Burns.  The Planning Commission will consider this request on September 10, 2008.

Presentation, discussion and possible recommendation on case Z-SP-14-08-2 a request to rezone 0.49 acres of land located approximately 625 feet north of the northeast corner of Cave Creek Road and Bell Road from C-2 (Intermediate Commercial) to C-2 SP (Intermediate Commercial with a Special Permit) to allow automobile sales and all underlying C-2 uses.  Presentation by Derrick Quartullo.  The Planning Commission will consider this request on October 7, 2008.

Staff update on cases recently reviewed by the Committee (not for committee discussion or public input).

Committee member requests for information, follow-up or future agenda items (not for committee discussion or action)

 

Next regular meeting is scheduled for October 6, 2008.
