Hotwire.com, Top Travel Value

(March 2008) Hotwire.com recognized Phoenix as the most affordable vacation spot in the Web site’s third annual Travel Value Index. Rankings were based on prices and discounts on airfare and rental-car and hotel rates, the availability of affordable entertainment and overall accommodation choices. Phoenix scored 100 on the 100-point scale for overall travel value.

TravelSmart Magazine, List of Landmark Libraries

(May 2006) The Burton Barr Central Library was in TravelSmart magazine’s list of 15 New American Landmark Libraries designated as "architectural gems." The article’s mission was to "get our readers to think about going to libraries when traveling as tourists." TravelSmart further stated that libraries "provide much needed services for travelers such as Internet access, cafes, quiet resting spots, and information about local history."
