Councilman Tom Simplot will host the second annual "Tricks and Treats Doggie Costume Party", from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Steele Indian School Park, Third Street and Indian School Road.
The celebration will give dogs and their owners a chance to show off their best costumes and also will feature an ice cream eating contest, a mini obstacle course and a picture-taking station – all for the dogs.
Right after the Doggie Party, the fun continues with a double feature to conclude the 2007 Moonlight Movies series. The series is hosted by Simplot, who raises money through private donations to fund the movies that are free to the public.
Kicking off the double feature is an animated fall-season favorite for all ages, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” The show starts at 6 p.m. Then, let the magic begin with the second film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” This feature presentation is rated PG and will begin shortly after 6:40 p.m.
Residents are welcome to come in costume for both events. For more information on the Doggie Costume Party or Moonlight Movies series, call Simplot's office at 602-262-7447.
