Councilman Greg Stanton and his wife Nicole are excited to host a free Child Car Seat Safety Check from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Prince of Peace Church, north of 56th Street and Indian School Road.
“As a new father, I understand how important safety is when it comes to our children,” Stanton said. “Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among children in the United States, and it is my goal to do everything possible to help prevent such tragedies.”
Certified child passenger safety technicians from the Phoenix Fire Department will be at the event to check car seats and ensure maximum child safety, and the Phoenix Police Department will be on site to offer VIN etching. Recently appointed Squaw Peak Police Precinct Commander A.B. Smith also will be available to meet residents and answer any questions.
Other event festivities will include a bouncy gym, face painting, balloon art and food, so bring the entire family out for a morning of fun and safety education!
