The city of Phoenix in conjunction with Morningside Evangelical Presbyterian Church will host Keeping Kids Safe Day 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Morningside Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 3312 E. Campbell Ave.
The Phoenix Police and Fire departments will give safety tips at the event; Police will also demonstrate VIN etching for vehicles and the Fire Department will conduct car seat safety checks with the help of Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Event-goers can eat barbeque, go on an Easter egg hunt and shop for clothes, books, toys, accessories and other family favorites—all while exploring safety resources.
For people doing spring cleaning, used clothing and books will be collected at the event, along with canned goods; and proceeds will be donated to a local charity.
Keeping Kids Safe Day is sponsored by the Phoenix Police and Fire departments and the office of Councilman Greg Stanton; Morningside Evangelical Presbyterian Church; Janson & Associates; Phoenix Children’s Hospital; Friends of the Phoenix Public Library; and the Rotaract Club of Phoenix.
