Enjoy "Taking It To The Streets Fair" in downtown Phoenix
We know that the heart and soul of any community is the strength of its neighborhoods. Luckily, we are blessed in Phoenix to have literally hundreds of neighborhood associations and groups that are active in their respective areas. These super residents devote thousands of hours each year helping to make their neighborhoods safer, cleaner and better for their families and friends.
That's why I'd like to invite you to the first ever "Taking It To The Streets Fair," set from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Phoenix City Hall Plaza, 200 W. Washington St. Sponsored by Fry's Food and Drug Stores and the Neighborhood Services Department, the free event will recognize the efforts and accomplishments of neighborhood associations and Fight Back groups throughout the city.
You, your families and friends are invited to enjoy the music, food and neighborhood activities that will be taking place at this festive event. One of the many highlights at the fair will include a performance by national motivational speaker Bill Strickland, president of Manchester Craftsmen' Guild and the Bidwill Training Center. Strickland is widely respected and known for delivering inspirational presentations on communicating a powerful message of change, hope and making a difference.
You'll also be able to attend free neighborhood workshops, visit with vendors and network with the different community and entertainment organizations that will participate. Mayor Phil Gordon, my colleagues on the City Council and I will also be on hand at the celebration, which will include an awards ceremony for distinguished neighborhood associations or neighborhood accomplishments.
To participate as a vendor or community group or for more information, call 602-534-4446. See you at the "Taking It To The Streets Fair" on Saturday, Jan. 13!
