Councilman Michael Johnson invites the community to participate in the South Vistas neighborhood clean-up and community outreach event from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Southern Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1330 E. Southern Ave. The clean-up effort will span from Southern Avenue to Roeser Road and from 12th to 16th streets.

Volunteers from the Arizona Association of Community Managers will assist in cleaning up the alleys of overgrown vegetation and debris, as well as graffiti removal and landscaping of the church. This event also will feature informational booths from various city departments, including Neighborhood Services, Parks and Recreation, Police, Municipal Court and the Arizona State Department of Juvenile and Adult Probation.

Residents will be able to take advantage of trash bins that will be staged throughout the community for personal trash disposal. Residents are advised to follow the proper procedures listed directly on the trash bins when determining what can and cannot be placed in the bins. Lunch will be provided following the clean-up.
