The year-long program presents selected participants
with many exciting opportunities to learn, grow, change and
improve. The days will be fast-paced and participants will definitely
be challenged. However, most participants work an 8 a.m. to
5 p.m., five-day schedule. There may be occassional meetings
or assignments that require participants to work outside of
that core schedule, but that would not happen routinely.

talented individuals of all backgrounds from throughout the
United States and the city organization. By February 2009,
8-12 semifinalists will be invited to an interview on March
5 and 6. The city usually selects two to three individuals

assignments throughout the program year. |

No. Your department will need to have the duties
of your position covered. In many cases, the department will
need to fill that position. You should also consider that during
the year, you would undergo many changes. Your career goals
may likely change, and you may be open to new career possibilities.
Your networks will expand. Your understanding of how the city
is managed and operated will deepen. Different people at different
levels in the city will see you in action, and they may view
your skills, abilities, talents and potential in a different
light. During the program, you may no longer have a desire to
return to the same position, department or career path. For
additional questions, contact Personnel’s Employment Services
at 602-262-4655 . |

The city does not guarantee a promotion at
the conclusion of the program. However, many successful participants
